What is it like working for Adida?
Decentralized Office
Working from home or in the field is how the majority of agents work for Adida. Many of the partners and projects require working at odd and inconsistent hours, so be prepared for a work life that follows you!
Profit-sharing
Ownership of Adida understands that without the employees providing their absolute best effort towards partners, then Adida would be out of business tomorrow. As such, all profit is shared with employees in an equitable manner.
Learning & Development
We ask that 10% of each employees time be spent on learning and development. It is important if we want to provide the very best advice and service that we need to be the very best at everything we do and never stop learning and developing. The learning and development topics are very broad and there is plenty of opportunities for employees to learn about topics outside their normal work sphere.

Job Description
The research engineer’s primary responsibility is to support the development, validation and preparation for scale-up of novel solid state battery (SSB) technologies for safe, high energy density storage systems. Responsibilities include support of basic materials studies, operation and engineering support of lab, pre-pilot scale mixing and coating, and test facilities to execute small format cell builds to evaluate advanced technologies within the scope of various research projects. Primary job activities include conducting experimental testing in a controlled environment such as dry room and glove box, preparing and optimizing such designs and prototypes according to established procedures, and collaborating with the cell development team. Additional responsibilities include data collection, test procedure modification, data analysis and presentation, updating SOPs, and maintaining shared laboratory space.
Primary Responsibilities
- Cathode materials development and selection for oxide based chemistries.
- Cathode coating chemistry and method development for solid-state batteries.
- Electrode optimization which includes density, porosity, formulation and A/C ratio.
- Evaluate emerging cathode materials, electrolytes, electrodes and cell designs per Powerit.
- Innovative thinking and introducing new methods, tools, and compositions for performance optimization with cost effective approaches.
- Plan and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) independently, utilize statistical tools for results analysis, and determine the importance of multiple factors/parameters.
- Analyze and evaluate cell data to determine direct and interaction effects of the materials under evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross functional team in communication with material suppliers on the development and validation of new material specifications, and the resolution of any quality issues.
- Understand and adhere to program timelines.
- Document results and prepare reports.
Specific Skills/Background
The position requires a self-starting, highly organized individual capable of identifying opportunities and taking responsibility for project implementation.
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Ph.D is a plus but not necessary.
- Demonstrated expertise and success in design and development of components and assemblies for lithium ion batteries.
- Experienced in cathode surface coating technology for solid state batteries.
- Experienced in different physical and chemical characterization tools for powder, electrode, and various type of prototype cells.
- Knowledgeable in electrochemistry fundamental/testing and how to apply these tools for the development of innovative cathode materials.
- Capable of analyzing output data and communicating relevant learning to stakeholders.
- Thinks analytically - the ability to break down problems, gain understanding, and make effective decisions.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for independent and creative thinking as well as complex problem solving using innovative approaches.
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and discuss effectively with co-workers.
- Self-motivated and a team player.
